Project Overview
Saputo, the largest cheese manufacturer and leading fluid milk and cream processor in Canada, is developing a new fluid milk production facility in Port Coquitlam, BC. This new, state-of-the-art facility is purpose-built, and incorporates the latest in dairy producing technology. This industrial facility will include two buildings, totaling over 355,000 sq ft, and is being constructed to better serve the dairy market in Western Canada, with an annual distribution of over 230 million litres of product in BC.
Project Details
The project included the design and installation of two 2500kVA unit substations, with a 175kW generator and a 100kW uninterruptible power source. We also managed all life safety and non-life safety transfer switches, and provided Foodsafe BC compliant installations where required. The scope of the electrical design and installation is a 30-month contract, worth $11-million.
