Project Overview
Redevelopment of the Royal Columbian Hospital (RCH) campus is required to meet current and future demand for services, addressing critical infrastructure issues. The scope of the electrical design and construction of this multi-year, Phase One project is $28-million.
Project Details
The new energy centre included a fit-out of equipment, required to service the new 75-bed mental health substance use building as well as the existing RCH campus. There was also the construction of a campus IT network which included the installation of a fiber optic ring, which also required a complete fit-out to connect the communications hub to all buildings. This project included the installation of two 3.25-megawatt high voltage generators, and also included 25 shut downs within one month, to cut over the existing hospital to the new electrical installation.
